The County Government of Vihiga intends to plan and coordinate the growth of its major and fast-growing urban areas. The initiative is primarily to meet the challenges facing the growing urban areas. The county seeks to undertake the planning of the Kaimosi-Cheptulu urban area, which is one of the biggest education complexes in the county and by extension western Kenya.
